Persecution for anti-war statements and protests in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea after the start of Russia’s full-scale military aggression against Ukraine
Source: Mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea
Since February 24, 2022, a wave of protests and statements against Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has taken place in the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol (TOT of the ARC). These are not mass events, but individual initiatives. It should be noted that the most recent mass gatherings that were against the policy of the occupational administration in the TOT of the ARC took place in 2014. It’s also worth mentioning that this report only contains information about isolated cases, obtained from public sources and records of occupational courts, as well as from our own sources on the peninsula and interviews of activists that have already left the TOT of the ARC.
